Idle air controller compatability

It looks like I probably need to replace the IAC in my '99 MS LTD 3.5L. Of course, I'll probably have to break down and spend $370 for an OEM unit at one of the online dealer/retailers. But for now, since my old one is still functioning, I'm trying to find a cheaper option.
First, I tried one of the cheap reproductions available on ebay for $40. Of course, it did not work at all. Complete failure. Wouldn't idle below 2krpm, and threw P0505 fault code.
So my next option was to buy a new one from www.dsmisc.com, which is supposedly a new OEM unit for under $200. Unfortunately, I sent the money via PayPal over two weeks ago, and have received no response whatsoever, even after multiple emails. Nothing. I think he's out of business. I have since filed a claim with payPal, and am trying to get my money back.
The next option is to buy a used unit on ebay or from a junkyard. The problem here is that there are so many different part numbers and claimed compatability. The ASA parts list says I need the following part numbers: MD628119 or MD628174
I can't find any used ones with these numbers, but there are several that are stamped with E9T15371C - which might be the same thing. These look like they would do fine, but on the ebay ads, they all say that they are compatable with the 3.0L engine. That leads me to believe it won't work with my 3.5L. However, there are lots of aftermarket units that have part number AC254 that say they are compatible with all Montero Sports, including both 3.0 and 3.5L. Furthermore, the Mitsubishi OEM parts retailers list the MD628174 as being compatible with both the 3.0 and the 3.5 L.
So....Please...can anyone tell me if an IAC stamped with the numbers E9T15371C, from a 3.0L MS, will work on my '99 3.5L?
Thanks, Peter

.... Here is where I buy them. They are factory Mitsubishi parts. DSMISC - Mitsu IACsYea, stay away from the after market versions. The ECM/PCMs are finiky and this part has to work exactly right or you'll get weird behavior. Edward

Thanks for your comments. I actually tried to buy one from the link you provided, and mentioned it deep in my long post up above. I sent $200 by PayPal nearly 3 weeks ago, followed by multiple emails, and I never heard squat from them. They never responded to my messages, and never sent a part to me. They just kept my money. I'm working with PayPal to get my money back.
Anyway, it's just as well. I think I answered my own question. No, the IAC from a 3.0L motor is apparently not compatible with the 3.5 L Montero Sport motor. And since the DSMISC company only sells the one from the 3.0L motor, it wouldn't have worked for me anyway. Maybe that's why they're ignoring me.
If you look at pictures of IACs for Montero Sports on Ebay, you'll see that the one for a 3.0 L motor has 2 mounting holes, and the one for my 3.5 L motor has 3 mounting holes. So I'm pretty sure they're incompatible. Unfortunately, I can't find any used IACs for the 3.5 L motor, and the only source I can find is the online dealerships/parts retailers, who want $370. Grr.

The 3.0L has the two screw type and the 3.5L has the 3 screw attachment type. Edward

I got an extra one if you wanna try it Sent from my SM-N900V using proboards Hey BD, thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it, but for now the problem has gone away. You know, my truck was setting the P0505 code once a week for a while, but running just fine. When it started setting the code every other day, I bought a cheap replacement (which, by the way, looked identical to the one I took off). This caused my truck to idle very bad, and threw codes right away, even after resetting the ECU. I also went back to look for vacuum leaks, using the carb cleaner method, the propane method, and the cigar smoke method, but couldn't find any leaks. I switched back and forth between the old IAC and the new one, and finally just left the old one on. Since then, the truck has been running great, and hasn't set the code for nearly two weeks. I figure the problem will return, and I want to be prepared for a total IAC failure, but I feel stupid paying $370 for a new IAC when the truck runs beautifully. So yeah, thanks, next time it sets the code, maybe I'll PM you and send some postage so that I can do some diagnostics with your IAC.

Hey Edward, thanks for confirming that they are different. Have you ever bought an IAC for a 3.5L Montero Sport from the DSMISC guy? I can't find one listed on his website, and he won't respond to my messages, but if I could buy it from him it would save me a wad.

Edward, Just so you know, I finally got a response from the DSMISC guy (after 20 days). He says he's having trouble sourcing these Mitsubishi ISCs, and he refunded my payment.

Both my 3.5Ls are low mileage so I haven't needed to replace the IAC on there yet. Edward

If you are having problems finding parts for you 3.5L used or from junkyards also look for the Full Size Montero they ran the 3.5L too.

OK, thanks mudrunner. Also, when I look up the part number (MD628174) at various online Mitsubishi parts retailers, it says this same part is also used in some V6 3.0L Galants and Eclipses. I haven't started cruising the local junkyards, but I might soon.

At the risk of ridicule, I bought an aftermarket IAC on ebay for $49 with a "lifetime" guarantee. At that price what could I lose when OEM controllers were running in the $250-$300 range. Truck is running like new. I'll see how long it lasts, but wow what a difference. It had been dying at every stop in stop-and-go traffic on I5.
