I have searched but no finding my answer, I want to drain my trans pan fluid any idea how many quarts I would need? and My catalytic converters need replacing codes show P0431 and P0421. Any idea how long I can drive with bad catalytics because I am now on a fixed income and I see the cats are really pricy for a 2001 3.0 MS 4 WD 155K on her.

You will most probably find that it's your O2 sensors on both banks down from the cats that are malfunctioning, as a cheap thing to do you could try running something like Techron, Regane, Seafoam etc through the system and often times it will clean up your fuel system, cats and O2 sensors, it's worth a try first up. As far as you transmission oil, i'm sure someone will chime in soon with quantity what it requires...
Good luck.

I drained my tranny and changed filters a couple of months ago. I Bought 4 quarts per a post on this forum, but wound up needing 6 because I probably drained my aftermarket cooler as well. It's not that expensive so having a few extra quarts wouldn't be all that bad. I think I paid $7-$8 a qt. Diamond SP III only of course.
