So yesterday my blower motor completely stopped working. I checked the fusible link under the hood and it was good and had power on both sides. Then I checked the dedicated fuse under the dash, it was good and had power on both sides. Then I checked the plug that goes into the blower motor itself. It has no power, even with the key on and the fan knob turned on. Is it possible that the fan switch itself went bad? Is that common? The blower has been working and just stopped yesterday randomly. Thanks for any help!

I found a diagram for the switch and tested every single prong and it matches up. The switch is good. Power comes in on pin #8 and when the switch is turned it sends power to pin #1. I have continuity everywhere I should and no where I shouldn't. Yet I still have no power to the blower itself. What else is in-between?

I figured it out! It was the relay! I swapped in the fog light relay and now it works again. The switch activates the relay, which powers the blower.

I had the same issue on mine...blower just stopped working but the a/c compressor was still operating.
Blower relay literally fried..portion of it melted and burnt out along with the 30amp fusable link. Not sure what caused this...engine bay grounds and connections and all looked good.
I am going to check the blower motor and resistor and see if the connections are good there. I read on a other thread that its possible due to the blower needing cleaning, it could of caused more of a electrical draw to operate causing the relay to burn out.
Going to remove the blower motor and inspect it...but pretty sure needs a cleaning if its not been cleaned in 14 years.

Let us know how hard it is to get out and cleaned please. I have yet to tear into my dash, it is on the to do list, but so are a ton of things lol.

Recently pulled my evaporator and it was pretty simple except you have to evacuate the refrigerant first. Blower was adjacent and to the right, looking forward in the passenger seat. Looked like a fairly straight forward removal.

Most cars it's at the bottom of the dash behind the glovebox. Sometimes you don't have to remove anything but the cover that houses it.

Let us know how hard it is to get out and cleaned please. I have yet to tear into my dash, it is on the to do list, but so are a ton of things lol. I took the initiative to make a video tutorial on servicing the blower motor and resistor. Its very very easy...once you remove a plastic cover, its right there. I will finishing editing the video and load it on Youtube and share the link here.
