I replaced all my dash cluster lights with the standard ones and it seems they are on the dim side. When I turn on the lights the overhead clock display is non readable no illumination but when I turn off the lights the clock illumination is back to bright. Anyone have a clue? I am thinking maybe the rheostat on the dash.

I think that's partly by design. My clock goes dim when the headlights are on. At night it's very readable that way, but during the day it's dim.

I am thinking maybe the rheostat on the dash. It MIGHT be that, but I've never heard of one actually going out. Is it just the interior lights? Have you noticed if the exterior lights dim? Is it all the time or only at idle? The clock light dims when you turn on the interior/interior&exterior lighting if I remember correctly, so that's normal. I'm wondering if you have a ground issue with the interior circuits. Edward
