So it has been a while since I have posted anything. But today I was trying to change the rear shocks. I am stuck at the top bolt for the driver rear. Any ideas? I have tried air tools WD 40 and now I may have stripped out the nut. I am thinking the tank may have to come out. There is a piece of metal blocking the way from easy access to nut.

That bites mud, hope you can get it. These trucks definitely seem to hide things well.

The tops were hard as hell to reach...I let the suspension sag as much as possible and was able to get on to it. No easy way I could figure out. Anyone else? I love how every write-up I came across makes it seem like a piece of cake. IF there is one thing I learned from this car...nothing is a 30 minute job (except maybe the alternator swap...mine just went smooth). I had to use air tool on lower mount...that beast was on mine like crazy

Thanks guys makes me feel better that I am not alone. I think I will wait and drop the gas tank when it is not fuel.

I work at a small auto repair shop on saturday mornings managing and uhauls and I seen the the last mechanic doing a 01 MS rear shock break the top mount on the rear driver side with very little torque. I am lucky my truck had all 4 shocks replaced when I got it.

Even remotely thinking about shock bolts or ANY bolt underneath mine that is going to be worked on gets PB blaster sprayed on it each day until the day I work on it. I replaced my transmission support awhile back and did that technique. Every bolt came right off and went back on with zero issues. It seems to help ward off future rust as well after looking at them a few weeks later. That has saved me countless headaches. ESPECIALLY with exhaust bolts. Whenever the word exhaust is mentioned I immediately say ANTI-SEIZE!!;D
