Looking good!! It looks really nice with the lift, and will be a bad *** rig with those wheels.
I really like how clean the fenders look with no badge, you were right about that.

Yeah, I'm removing them from the passenger side when I get the other quarter panel replaced. It is rusting from the back side where the mud flap, rocker, and door meet. The 2 other montero sports I've seen around rusted badly right there. Seems the deSignal of mud flap allows alot of crud to get in there. I pulled alot of stuff out of both sides when I bought it. Front hood lip seems to be another spot, why I put the bug deflector there after touching it up.

Mine has some rust bubbles in the fenders, right where the flare meets the mud flap. I will get those fixed once I get the beige part repainted.

Looking good! When are you getting those wheels installed? How did you go about debadging the Montero sport logo off the side? At work I have one of those large rubber eraser like wheels for removing stickers and decals, thought about using that, but didn't want to end up making a mess or ruining the paint with the decal being a little thicker than the usual dealership stickers and pin stripe vinyl I am usually removing with it.

I really like the progress so far!
What is your exhaust set up exactly? Do you have any videos of the exhaust sound? I am debating on doing my exhaust but don't want nothing obnoxiously loud during idle and normal driving.
Looking forward seeing the wheel and tires on. Give your impressions on ride and overall driving characteristics. I am looking to go up a size when I replace my tires down the road and was looking into going the size tires you are going to run.

I didn't physically debadge the montero sport lettering. I just didn't buy new stickers when I replaced that quarter panel. The rust was coming from the back side and would've cost just as much to fix as going to the dealership and getting a new fender and having it painted. I'll do the same on passenger side when I replace that quarter panel. Hopefully b4 this winter. In a cunundrm if I want to do the 2 inch body lift b4 I work on the rust spots starting underneath. Or focus on them b4 the lift. I think lift would make it easier accessing stuff. I'm also looking for replacement wheel liner rubber. The lower attachment flaps on the frame are all falling off. And with the body lift I will take the stock ones and use them as a template for cutting new ones and just make them 2 inches longer. I will also add some for the back wheel wells.
There's just so much sand and salt on these roads in the winter time. For the under side I plan on sanding a lot of the surface rust off and using POR15 I think it is called. It's an epoxy that will seal it, then top that with either paint or normal undercoating to protect the epoxy from UV deterioration. I would like this thing to last as long as Edwards. At current rate I should hit 500k in 30 years lol.
Tires will be trial fitting this coming weekend and making any mods needed. And final install during the following week. Taking it slow but rather be safe then sorry. Hard to find time with one kid turning 4, and other turned 1 on Friday. And been helping my 18 year old get her apartment all set up and starting college.

Oh and for exhaust I will try to take a video and post it. But this is what I purchased. I wish it was stainless steel. But instead just got aluminized . I may unbolt it and have it powder coated b4 this coming winter. When I do the underside touch up, anything I can unbolt and bolt back up fairly easily is getting powder coated. Exhaust system

Looking good... can't wait to see it with the new wheels and tires installed! How did the OME install go? Any issues? I plan to do this install soon. Wondered about issues with rust or seized bolts to look out for

Wondered about issues with rust or seized bolts to look out for OME install went pretty painless, probably a lot easier then doing your body lift. I still haven't installed my body lift. It's super straight forward. I had a bit of corrosion to fight with the front shocks. Also keep an eye on how much you crank your front torsion bars. I over did it the first go. Have slowly been turning it back 1/8 inch at a time and putting crayon on the bump stop so to make sure it isn't hitting them non stop. As I said all of this is a learning process for me lol

So I have them installed after an issue getting a socket to fit into the lug holes and fit the new lug nuts. I still have to finish modifying the mud flaps, and the center covers in front for the manual locking hubs. But 1 step at a time and at 3am I am done for the night lol.
