Thanks Pin. I was actually hoping to see how the upper bracket attached to the engine.. if it does. Dan It does. That little tab in pinstrypr's pic at the top next to the dipstick. Just one bolt. To the head if I remember correctly. Edward

Thanks Ed. Interesting.. mine is just floating in the engine bay and I wasn't seeing anything to connect it to. Will have to look again, but surprised I didn't see something the first time. Must be losing it.

Must be losing it. Dan Anyone do any head work? I've had that bolt left off before on other things. Floating around isn't too good, either. There's an o-ring on the tube and its a 'push fit' into the A/T pan, but some come out real easy and some won't come out almost at all. It would suck to have the former. Edward

Nope Ed, no head work that I am aware of. I've pulled the tube loose myself when changing out the tranny filter, but popped it back into the pan with the o-ring properly afterward. The tube really doesn't move around, but it isn't connected to anything at the top bracket. I'll have to post a photo when I have time, and light.

I'm your huckleberry. Follow that nasty tube lookin thing about 1/2 way is a 14mm and a 12mm attaches it to the head. Easypeasy

Thanks, pinstryper! I was gonna ask if you had pics of that. I was curious where that top bolt attached exactly. The FSM diagrams of this suck.

Thanks Pin! Well I'm completely missing that piece the tube bracket bolts to at the top.. more quality workmanship uncovered. If you ever find a part number for that lemme know! That's the DR side lift bracket. Its MISSING?? Dang! I'm pretty sure that's specific to the engine displacement, too. Since it bolts to the head I bet 3.0L won't fit on a 3.5L and whichwise. Got to think'n, 'hey, I don't remember seeing that on the '99...'. Glad I take pictures of EVERYTHING. Pulled up the snapshot of the bay before I took it in 3 months ago. Its there. Pulled up pics of my 3.0Ls. Yea, ... Montero Sport 3.5L, 1999 Montero Sport 3.0L, 1997 Looks like not only did it change between the 3.0L and 3.5L, it may have changed between Gen 1 and Gen 2. Edward

Yeah Ed, it's missing somehow! But I found it by part # on PartsBase.org and placed an order for an inlet manifold plenum stay (MD338301). We'll see if they (DiscountMitsubishiParts.com) actually have it, or if they just haven't updated their data base yet.
Thanks again guys!
