Found 1 set from a big montero that are about 3.5% larger 2658/2745 Wonder how that translates mathematically over a 50 inch length? Let you know how they work tomorrow maybe.

FHM considers it a SPORT configuration torsion bar .8 mm larger

Should have read the OME blog instead of aligning marks. Been a long time since replaced any tbars

But upon searching google for related formulas, it appears to be 7% larger torsion bar. Wonder how that would translate with the addition of the ARB bumper?

And the Montero it came off has 650# more curb weight?

And the Montero it came off has 650# more curb weight? Was the Montero a 3.0L or a 3.5L? The weight difference between a 3.0L and a 3.5L is roughly the weight of an ARB. So, if those came off a 3.5L (and they fit the Sport) and given the GVW difference, they might balance out fairly well if you had an ARB, XD9000 and rope and 33/35"s. Edward

I wouldn't say the ARB is the be all end all bumpers. It is EXTREMELY well made and dang near indestructible. It is HEAVY. and frame rails need reinforcement. With a arb and winch everything needs to be approached and thought about. Weight. Wear and tear on steering and suspension components. The drivability will be affected. Need to raise the front and that requires an alignment afterwards. HD torsion bars are a requirement for the bar and winch(if purchased). I LOVE mine and would buy another that's just my opinion. You do what works for you. My engineering advisor says think real hard. Then go back over it because you always miss the little details that will kill you.

I sent an email to see if ironman even made one to fit our model.

I wouldn't say the ARB is the be all end all bumpers. It is EXTREMELY well made and dang near indestructible. Yep. Totally agree on both. I've face planted rock walls on the big Sport several times. The worst damage I have is on the PS corner where I caught the edge of an outcropping 3-4 (separate) times in CO. I have 'issues' with that corner. I had to whack it HARD to do any damage. Crushed a Neon and had 4-5 people back into it and its still going strong. Three broken Heim joints - stuck on the trail once, limped back to town once and almost took out a built Rover on an on ramp in rush hour traffic. Miss-designed track bar mount. Failure to take into account that bushings compress under stress. Real life example of exactly what you're adviser is talking about. Engineering does not = randomly slapping parts on something. Got bars re-indexed and got it at 34.5 rt. 34.75 Lft. Will get the 33/10.50/15's bfg ko2's this week. Kids not to excited about the 1k ARB bumper though, seems he likes the brushguard

I would be careful about reindexing torsion bars. Especially stock ones. I'm not saying it hasn't been done before, but the stock torsion bars aren't made to carry the arb around and a winch. MAYBE just the arb but I'd still be careful. Sent from my SM-N900V using proboards

It was the biggest montero, the one I wanted to take the locker/guage cluster (won't fit) from I did get the cool headrests. And this time I followed OME's install advice.
