Hi! Brand new member here, with a "brand new" '00 Sport GLS (3,0, autogear, 4wd). I am mounting a reverse-camera and doubleDIN stereo. I am looking for a wire with reverse signal in dash, so I don't need to stretch wires to the rearlights. Also I have some troubleshooting to do in the central-lock system, as the one in back door is not working. I have found a quite good manual for this car, but no wire diagram, so far.
Thank you!

Depends on your camera system and what the DD stereo is capable of. Most of them just require wiring either the trigger wire (if equipped) or the + on the camera feed to the + reverse light. For reverse only function usually the wire comes out of the camera end so you just need to run it through the tailgate into the grommet then down to one of the reverse lights. For always on (rear view mirror) function you just tap into a switched 12v + lead whether it be just the camera + or the trigger lead. Don't forget to fuse.

It is P ioneer AVH-X5700DAB with Pioneer camera. Camera is to be connected entirely to the stereo, it is the stereo who needs revers signal, in the trigger wire. In the menu of the stereo, I select wether I want reverse only, or always on :-) I would prefer not to stretch wires to the tail, as I am finished stretching camera wires (via OE wires for rear door, via roof). There should/must be a reverse signal in some of the cables in dashboard/kickpanel. I have found some posts on "the interweb" talking about a red and green striped wire that is this trigger signal on some Pajero (not Sport), but I cannot find that colour in any of the cables, so I belive the wire setup is not the same in all Mitsubishis :-) So, a wire diagram, thats what I need. Desperatly :-D

It shouldn't be powered all the time.....it should be the same circuit that power your backup lights every time you put your gear into reverse.....you can just tap it to the line that goes to those lights.

Just tested that fuse. Nope. It's live as long as key is turned on.

Is it no one that has the wire diagram for this car? Since my first car, Saab 99 (fun car!!!) in 1977, I have had electric diagram of all my cars. And motorcycles. And all other kind of vehicles. But I miss the one for the Sport...

Unless you have a wireless backup camera system, then you don't have a choice.

These are from my '99 service manual. Should be the same for 2000(?) Now we're talking. Thank you! This indicates I should find a pure red wire at the E42-plug, if I read correct it is the #16 at that plug. OK, something to try. Now it's time for sleep here, will try this tomorrow. BTW: Where did you find this manual? I have not found any good manuals for this car yet.. Found one, who seems OK for the mecanics, but still miss the electric...
