Has anyone purchased and been happy/unhappy with a remanufactured shortblock ?. I need to begin contacting places that sell them, but Id like to know from any of you that have had either good or bad experiences with any of them. Just choosing randomly is all Ive got now ,and possibly feedback from those that have had to make this same choice will help me and others that will be faced with this choice.m(01 MS 4x4)

Not a foreign one... but a Chevy 454 from Jasper was excellant.
They also supplied a 700r4 transmission for my 87 v-6 firebird. I had a race transmission shop beef it up a few years later. (Nothing wrong just wanted it build to v-8 specs.) Anyway the speed shop said they were EXTREMELY impressed with the build. Jasper had not skimped on anything. Alot of places will simply replace whats bad and keep used parts in the build. Everything was new in mine.
Not sure if Jasper supplies to the foreign market.
You did not ask, but... if you wanted a used one LKQ pulls salvage and will offer warrenties. I got my trans for the sport from them after the Previous Owner roasted mine to the point of no repair.

Find a reputable one and go with them. Look through the yellow pages for Mitsu speed shops and talk to them and see who they recommend. Edward
