My new OME shocks and springs go in today. There are quite a few options to go with, and there is always stock oem also. I've seen skyjacker, rancho, kyb, etc.

All there is is stock oem. You say Rancho makes them? I went to a place that sells Rancho shocks and he said there was nothing for ANY montero sport. No KYB gas a just, just the oem style.

Rocky road outfitters, look at the mitsubishi montero section, it lists the sport along side the full size monteros. They sell Old Man Emu shocks, springs, and torsion bars. I'm in Myrtle Beach currently or I'd list a few other places I have book marked. Know that one off the top.of my head because I just ordered my shocks and springs from them.

Just checked Rancho's catalouge; no Monterto Sports Skyjackers website; no Montero Sports Bilstein: no Montero Sports Pro Comp: no Montero Sport Gabriel only makes the Ultra for gen 2 Montero Sport Tokico: No gen 2 Apparently Autozone lists Bilsteins that will fit my 2002 ms but none of the part numbers come up on bilsteins website.

Well looking at their prices, it seems like it would be cheaper just to buy new coils and then the shocks wouldnt be as big of an issue.

Don't get kyb rough as heck Well thats kind of what I am wanting. I want to get rid of that "minivan" ride. Do you think I should just get different coils? Has anyone thought about trying to fab brackets and putting the gen 1 leafs back on?

Bilstein makes them as I almost bought a set. Tokico makes them as well as that's what I have on there now. Tokicos are on the softer side though.

Not that kind of rough, put 60 psi in your tires instead... Airing the tires isn't going to stop body roll.

Has anyone thought about trying to fab brackets and putting the gen 1 leafs back on? Rancho and KYB most certainly make shocks for the Sport. As does Monroe and Gabriel. So does OME. KYB gas-adjust shocks are the 'stiffest'. OME are a bit down from there. The Monroe and Gabriel class are pretty much OEM replacements. No one has swapped the coils for leafs. I've thought of it on my '03 Limited but that's an emergency vehicle. I don't drive it enough to bother investing the time, effort or money. It is possible and it wouldn't even be that hard. Just not worth it to me. Easier to just go buy a Gen 1. Rancho RS9000s are the most flexible as they're adjustable. Edward
