Do newer Montero coils and bars work? Like 00 and up There are a few older ones driving and even less at yards around here. When I saw you scored a gauge pod I remember my cousins parts gen 1 has a boxy looking pod with oil gauge and compass. I wish it would fit my dash, but it will be a pain besides the plastic is already desintegrating on the top of it 95 fullsize montero without locker was a no go for the larger bars (26.4 normal type) and coils. 2001 full size montero looks completely different underneath... so no go there. 2000 i think is still a 2.5 gen... those are worth checking should be the same. Just look for a winter package. Orange stick on drivers side of console or a locker switch. Wndshield squirters on front bumper for headlights. I will go to the other yards next weekend. There is a 2000 at one of them.

they were not soley on 'winter package' in fact my FSM as shown in photos, does not refer to 'winter package' plus not many 'winter package' were shipped to Central America I would guess? So don't sell yourself short, the Tbars are visibly thicker but bring a caliper anyhow.

That's usually how they lower solid axle equipped cars. Also helps in keeping the original ride quality. Not to mention it is cheap and easy.

getting there... now need to pull moldings off doors and sunvisors to repaint window frames. going to try and get the rear bumper stepplate off also, not going to remove roof rack cause it entails removing headliner which would crack at 15 yrs old.

Looking good! Are you keeping the chrome bezels and grille? for now, too late to return, maybe just paint them later.

In some occasions I like them color matched or chrome. Black looks too outdated in my opinion. Maybe a color different than black could work, like a gunmetal or graphite gray.
