I figured its time to "officially" join the forum. I bought my MS in April of this year. It's a 2000 4x4 LS with about 180k on the clock. It's intended to be my 16 y/o sonS first driver. Son was asking for a 4 runner or pathfinder. When I saw this beaut I wasn't sure what it was until I looked it over closer. It looked like a real work-horse. Seriously, the PO was a horse person and hauled hay to her critter in it. The price was pretty low, no rust, has a few small dents in the body, clear coat was bad on the roof/hood/rear, and the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree! Figured it would be a good dad/son project. It had the oil-soaked alternator problem that I discovered after driving it home. I started reading this forum and figuring out the stuff we needed to do. This looks like a great place with lots of good people sharing their experience. HAPPY NEW YEAR, YA'LL.

I found this site in 2015 when I got my sport from a local mechanic scrapyard, The Montero Sport was my first vehicle and I was excited to learn how to work on vehicles. This forum has helped me immensely, after everything I have done to my sport I can say this will be the perfect beginners vehicle to learn how everything works. The Montero Sport is a very durable truck, relatively simple to work on, and hasn't let me down yet. There a few in my area with over 300K miles on them and they are still running strong. If you have any questions just post it up and we will do our best to help.

Welcome. Just got mine a few months back (for my Daughter in college out of state) ... and just trying to make sure its solid before handing it over to official college beater status. Problem is my wife loves it ... we all do, actually.
