When I engage my MS to 4H, the 4WD light in the dash keeps blinking all the time. This was my first time going off road with my MS and wasn't sure if this was normal or if the 4WD light should stay on all the time when 4H is engaged. In 4L the light seems to me steady.

just work the shifter in and out of 4WD many times the switch or shift rod is stuck.

Buggzyy is correct, if its shifting into 4WD then its probably your 4WD dectection switch or your freewheel detection switch is either bad or stuck. You should have a steady 4WD light on the dash if all is working the way it should.

I have the same problem, but its after I disengage the 4x4. It keeps flashing and then the Anti-Lock light comes on after I stop from high speeds. I've worked the 4x4 on and off several times and it seems like it wont disengage. I can even hear the 4x4 still engaged when I attempt to disengage it. Any ideas how to fix those switches? Is it a manual fix, like cleaning the areas around the transfer case or do I need new switches?

I tried shifting to 4WD for some time. But this time there no light at all. Even when i shifted to 4L. Also when I switched to 4L and drove, i hear some kind of noise while I'm driving and a small vibration when my transmission shifts gears. Is this a sign of anything?
Is this a complicated job? Do I have to take off the transmission?

Not to sure about fixing the switch, if its bad just replace it, I think I paid like $35 for my freewheel switch, and its a relatively easy fix since it is located right on the bottom back side of the front differential. If if its your 4WD detection switch, then its a bit more tricky. Either way you can use a mutlimeter to check for continuity on each switch so you know its good or not. I would start with the freewheel engagement switch first since its the easiest.
What I did was locate the switch link on the passenger side wheel well disconnect the switch, then put a jumper on the wire going back to the CPU. Started up the car and put it in 4WD, and bingo, the light was steady, so I knew right there that was my problem.
Check the FAQ section on here, or do a google search.. alot of info on the dreaded blinking light problem, its a pretty common problem with several causes.

It could also be the speed detection switches for the abs which I need to have replaced and they are over $200 a piece. My light can keep blinking!

Is your "Anti-Lock" light on by any chance? If so, I bet you have a bad "Freewheel Clutch Solenoid Valve", part# MR263723. It sits under the hood on the passenger side (partially underneath the air box). They have a yellow and blue dot on 'm. You can order a new one here www.mitsubishiparts.com/oe_parts_catalog.html for about $67 Before you do that though, double check all the vacuum lines you can find, to make sure those are not leaking.

My ABS light has not come on at all. Today I tried shifting the back and forth to 4wd and back. The light didn't come for some time. Then it did and it stayed on. But sometime while I'm driving the 4WD light goes away. Then I stopped and kept shifting until the light came on again. When it did come on, one thing i noticed was when i tried to do a U turn the front and rear wheels jerked. As if my MS couldnt figure out where the power should go. To the front or to the back. At the end of my test, when I tried to shift it back to 2WD the shifter was very hard to move back. But some how I was able to get it to shift back. Is your "Anti-Lock" light on by any chance? Thanks Buggzy! Do I have to take the transmission out to replace these switches? Are they expensive? I can't seem to be able to find it on the MitsubishiParts.com. Do you know their part numbers?

Do not try to do a u-turn on pavement if you think you are in 4wd. The jerking you were feeling was the inside wheel binding, the differential was not made to handle that.

Sujeemax if you look up the part on Mitsubishi Parts.net its called a "Control Switch" at least for the Freewheel Engage Switch, but they are bascially the same switch. As mentioned before the best method would be to test the switches one by one, starting with the Freewheel Engage switch on your front differential, then the 4WD detection switch, 4WD Hi/Lo switch and so forth. If you find one not working properly you can try spraying some WD40 to clean it out. From what you posted, your 4wd system mechanically seems to be working fine, so I would assume its probably not your solenoid valve, more likely just a bad switch. See this link below, maybe it would help explain better. The switches are cheap too, like $25 if you buy them online. Once you figure out which switch you can get the part # from the dealer. www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1027551&page=0&fpart=2&vc=1
