had my check engine light on for quite sometime now. then a few days ago had the chance to hook up an OBD reader. Code came up as p0400 and after searching online they said it's EGR malfunction. Would somebody please help me out on how to fix this problem coz when i tried erasing it with the OBD reader, it just would not go away...Bad news is that my DMV registration on it will be up by 7/12 so I gotta have it fixed coz I dont know how much penalty I would pay if I missed having it smogged and re-registering it...

good luck dude. if you find a solution please let me know. ive had this problem for 2yrs now and havent had any luck. if you search you will find my previous posts about it. so far ive done: replaced egr valve, egr solenoid, egr vacuum regulator, map sensor, all hoses egr related; removed and thoroughly cleaned the intake and throttle body.
my suggestion is reset your CE light in the parking lot of the inspection station right before you get it done.
