I have been looking all over the internet for custom projector headlights but I can't find any. Does anyone know were to find them? What exactly are you looking for? Custom replacement projector headlight assemblies? Not going to happen. The Sport was only sold in the US between '97 and '05. The '97-'99 and '00-'05 are different assemblies. There wasn't enough volume - aside from the fact that that technologies either didn't exist or was just getting started back then - to justify anyone doing anything like this. Closest you'll get is a HID conversion. Personally I despise these things. All this crap does is end up blinding oncoming traffic. However, if you decide to go this route, stay away from the Chinese junk and get a set that's DOT certified. They are illegal otherwise, and the cops do enforce this. Edward

+one on the no project lights. They are completely retarded. They give you maybe 20% useful light... at best.
Sent from my SM-N900V using proboards

... I was looking for replacement projector headlight assemblies. I have the HID kit but with having that I think It just makes it harder to see especially in the rain. Thank for your help Edward! No worries. Yea, that's what I thought you were looking for. The actual assemblies. The problem isn't the technology, its the light spectrum. Ok. Some of its the technology. That particular problem, however, is the light spectrum. Regular incandescent lights lean towards the warm side. More red than blue. HID leans more the other direction. Different surfaces reflect different parts of the spectrum to a greater or lesser degree. Wet roads and black tarmac "soak up" the blue spectrum put out by your lights. The more blue there is in your lights, the worse the illumination appears to be. This has nothing to do with candlepower - if the light isn't reflected, its just not. Adding more wattage won't fix the problem. In addition, people's eyes react differently. Some people's eyes have a lot of problems with the cooler ranges. If I remember correctly, the receptors in the eyes that process the cooler range is the first to go as a person ages. This is where the industry started out. NOW, they're starting to produce HIDs that produce a warmer - closer to true daylight - color that are more functional for more people. IMO, they still suck. There is a reason for fluted headlight housings. Slapping a clear piece of plastic in front of a bulb - while that may be great for the driver - is ridiculous for others on the road. I have a 'favourite' intersection that I go through every night on the way home and I can point out - without fail - EVERY vehicle that goes through with projector/HID headlights. And, I can tell because they blind that crap out of oncoming traffic - RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. The worst possible place to have that happen! This isn't a case of 'they just don't have the technology right, yet'. This is a bad idea and as far AFAIKT the only two reasons for the existence of this is the people in the buying public that think its 'cool' and it costs the manufacturer less. My '97-99 glass, fluted headlight housings work 10 times better than the '00-'05s and the newer housings are supposed to be 'better'. Maybe better for the manufacturer (cheaper), but not for the people on the road. Ok. Ranting done. Edward

I know on my Honda there is actually some shops that are disassembling the oem lights and retrofitting projector kits. Most aftermarket headlights are junk anyway, went thought a few sets on my Honda. Maybe I'll put a feeler out to the shop and see if they will do some of ours? I think the cost was around $200.

Just a heads upI have done some research on the headlight conversion, according to the NHTSA all headlight modifications from the factory design are illegal. But it is up to each state and law enforcement agencies to potrol this. I think it is stupid but since we don't have an MOT set up here we can't always be sure. And the DOT doesn't actually approve them the just meet DOT standards.

Ca only seems to care about smog legal parts. There isn't enough Montero Sports on the road for the average CHP/Sheriff to realize you modified your headlights. On that note SoCal may just have the highest amount of modified vehicles in the U.S........ The conversion was just a thought, I bought an extra set to disassemble and either paint the oddly colored grey part inside black or cover in carbon fiber, and of course remove that ugly orange side marker lens. Who knows maybe I'll do add the projectors to the list?

I found a guy awhile back that said he could custom make a set. Said he could do the custom rear lights as well . However just the projector setup in the front was gonna run $600-800 iirc. Probably still have the email if any are interested.

I'm a little late to the party but I thought I'd seen it posted that standards allow for (4) 55w headlamps. If on road performance is the ultimate goal, wouldn't that open up the option for a set of fog or Aux lamps? I'd also think (unless you don't like the way different color bulbs look) that you could increase the range of the color spectrum by mix n match the kelvin rating between your standard lights and the add on Aux.

Found the email. Cincitydesigns was the name of the company and it was upwards of a $1000 for a halo projector mod and $600-800 for LED tail light setup.
