Since our DOT is starting to act against LED bars due to people complaining about them (some dumb folks use them in the city or don't turn them off for oncoming traffic) I started looking to get a cover for it. Instead of ordering one from amazon I decided to make my own. Black Plexiglas molded to fit and a couple steel wires so it won't fall off. A good cleaning session was needed as well.

A few days ago a friend gave me an old bull bar he had laying around. So last weekend I finally had a chance to mod and install it, I'm really happy with the final result. We had to cut the tow hook and ring to accommodate it, but the big hook was relocated in order to have a good tow point on the front. While installing it We made some mounts for the LED bar to get it a bit lower than the license plate. Mounting the round lights Done!

6G72 carnage! Finally took it to fix the oil burning issues. It's getting new valve seals, piston rings, and engine bearings. Lucky me cylinders and pistons are in excellent condition.

How much are they charging for that? Mine doesn't have any issues yet, but I like to keep up on how much to put aside for the "just incase fund" lol

So I finally got the Sport back from the engine rebuilt. Needless to say it runs awesome! Very smooth and no issues at all! Brand new everything including motor mounts and radiator. Funny how bad mounts made the whole truck to squeal and make all kind of noises. The radiator died the day I got the truck out of the mechanic, so I got a new one this weekend. Having that part done, I went forward with some cosmetic work I had pending. Enjoy the pictures! The door panel fabric was really gross, worn out and stained from all the years of use and abuse so I went ahead to replace it. At first I wanted fake leather but then decided to go crazy and get something more on my taste and give it my personal touch. Camo! The new material (cotton fabric) was glued directly on top of the old material to retain the shape and cushion. If it were vinyl/fake leather I would have to get other material to act like a cushion. The upper panel was held with the lower one by plastic tabs acting as welds, to get it back together we drilled the tabs with a small bit and got some screws. Final result: The only downside was that 1 yard was not enough material for all 4 doors, so I still have 1 door to complete hahaha The material was like $6 on Amazon, so I will order another yard and will have plenty left over material in case I need to fix/replace any door in the future. On the exterior I replaced the faded grass vinyl on the tailgate, looks way better now since it kinda matches the beige on the truck. this vinyl was sprayed with a clear coat so I hope it will last more than the old one without fading (old one lasted a year) I also got some Montero Sport decals made in reflective vinyl. The 2nd gen font was not coming out very well so they went with the 1st gen. An old Montero my cousin got for parts, it was a diesel

Looks great! I like the idea to vinyl wrap the center taillight piece!

I like how you wrapped the upper door parts, came out nice. I need to do mine. I just started to change my interior.

Thanks guys! the tailgate is fairly easy, you just need to heat it up a bit on the edges to follow the curve nice and easy. the doors are a bit more tough but with an extra set of hands and good glue you can make it look decent.

Be something to check. The diesels are the ones that typically came with the 5.13 and 5.29 axle gears. Rare and worth a good bit of $$$s to the right people as those will fit both Monteros and Montero Sports. Edward

Since Im currently unemployed all Ive done is get crazy with spray paint lol Decided to paint the engine cover flat black and metallic beige on the lettering. Then I realized the metallic dust was a cool effect and went crazy with it. Sucks not being able to drive my Sport every day, and even more now that the engine runs so nice after the rebuilt. goo.gl/photos/3XNP74KwN5TQiNgf8
