Hi all, havent been able to update this. Here are some new pictures. I decided to back to all black. The tire carrier is off to get it done professionally and have also done regular old truck stuff like rebuilding the steering pump and replacing the alternator.

Tire carrier round 2. I took it off to fix some details and here it is. Lowered the tire 1" and moved it to the center 5" so the weight could rest on top of the plate the truck has there. That plate is already reinforced. In order to lock in place and delete the pivoting motion a steel pin goes inside said plate and was shaped as L so it twists and secures the tire from bouncing. Another plate extends past the bumper to act as bump stop for the tire. I liked it more when it was offset but it works way better this way. The tire barely moves now.

I agree, I like them off center better too, but .... Lower is always better if its possible to improve CoG, so you can't loose there. Glad to see its working out! Edward

Oh yes. A bit better visibilty, and the weight is leveled and right on top of the center support so now it doesnt pivot when closed. It will grow on me once I get a cover lol and well, it wont look like oem because it is not oem I agree, I like them off center better too, but .... Lower is always better if its possible to improve CoG, so you can't loose there. Glad to see its working out! Edward
