Okay, this question is for those who know a lot about car alarms. Is it possible to take a aftermarket alarm key fob and program it to the factory alarm? I bought a viper car alarm a while back before I found out my MS came with a factory car alarm and I am wondering if it's possible for me to take the key fob from that alarm and program it to my factory alarm. If that's not possible where is the factory alarm module located? And does anyone have the wiring diagram for them? Mine is a 2001 3.5XS with 4wd

Wouldn't hurt to try. Programming instructions are in the diy section. If the instructions for programming the viper vary from factory, try programming it both ways or a combination of the two before calling it quits. Sometimes it can be tricky doing the oem remote. You also have to do all remotes at the same time however as it deletes any of them already programmed.
If it doesn't work you may be able to find one that will by looking it up by the fcc id. The receiver is on the drivers side (U.S.) behind the panel in the cargo area.
