Simple as the title says. I would like to convert my 1999 MS front end... ex: headlights, grille, bumper, both fenders to a 2000-20004 front. Has anyone attempted this? If so, how simple was it?

I do believe that the front fenders are slightly different also. And (not that it matters) the washer fluid tank is located behind bumper on the 2000+ but in the engine bay is better location IMO. Fog lamps, and wiring I'm sure is different along with the wire harness ends for the bulbs. And turn signals etc. Not saying impossible but may be more work then me and you can think of till you're actually doing it. But then again it might be pretty easy too.

Headlight wiring needs to be modified since the first gen uses H4 bulbs while the gen 2 uses 9007 bulbs. As for the washer bottle relocation I can give you an idea, my gen 2 didnt had one so I got one from a Kia Sportage (hey it was cheap and its pretty big) and just zip tied it to the wiring harness so it wont move around. I located it on the passenger's side firewall. Mine has no ABS so instead of the module theres just a big empty space in there. I didnt try to get the oem bottle and use the oem location because my truck had no bumper reinforcement beam either so I had to get some steel and make my own. Its basically a steel push bar all across the front end covered by the plastic bumper lol
A guy I know did this same conversion and seems like he had to use extender plates to make the new parts match the bolt locations for the old stuff in some corners.

I ordered a new passenger side headlight and grill for a 2006 montero sport. Grill fit perfectly, light fit perfectly, but uses different bulb recepticles. And has a third bulb so back to my old passenger headlight once I polish it up again...

Gen1 fenders do not fit gen2, hood will work though. Just go on rock auto and check #s going back and forth. stuff overseas such as in 3 rd world countries have different builds in case you never knew.

Not sure on radiator support either. Since the headlights are completely different.

Iven never seen a Sport one with different bulb setup. Some stores mistake Sports with full size Monteros, and those use 3 bulbs.

Google 2006 montero sport, pager sport, mitsubishi challenger, etc. They stopped in the US market in 2004, they continued with a small facelift for 05 and 06 overseas. Then in 2007 they did a remodel. Pretty sure anything 2007 on won't fit our MSs here without modifying it.

That makes sense, you got a Nativa headlight pretty much. those went up to 2007 or 08 i think

swap out the connectors so you can get the correct bulb type for the headlights
