Hello, im looking to lower my MS. yes you read that right lol. i know most lift it for off road. unfortunately i live in the city and basically there's nothing off road here. That being said, im looking to make my MS a power house and up to date. That means Suspension, paddle shifters, engine swap, the entire enchilada! That being said, i need help to find a adjustable coil that would fit my MS and which i could adjust the ride height. I already know about cutting the springs and lowering that way but performance wise, most that have done that say its too bouncy and performance is not that good. So im looking to see if anyone have found a adjustable coil that fits 2003 MS Limited edition. any help will do guys. thanks in advance!
PS- im recording my upgrades on Youtube but i wont post link just in case is against the forum rules.

you bet I'll be following you while you mod it, I am looking to do similar things to mine one day when I have a bit more cash flow. Wanting to turn mine into a sleeper.
Edit: Well maybe not my 98 but rather another one. xD

But TEIN doenst make it for the MS so its a custom job IMO as he didnt go into detail. He also said i can purchase a 4 runner coil spring and cut it to liking height. ill probably do that if cant verify a coil that would fit the MS.

That would indeed be a custom install as the Montero Sport has torsion bar springs in front, not coils. The rear of the 2000-2004 Sports is coil sprung but still a custom install to get adjustable coilovers in there.

No, no, no you got it all wrong, it should go up, not down Everyone has a preference man, Some would say the opposite of of what you said. Me I prefer to stay at relatively stock height. The sport is not aerodynamic in any sense as it is, The only reason to lower IMHO is to get better handling at speed, particularly on curves. The underbelly of the sport is particularly bad at being aerodynamic, I would love to try and flatten it out and maybe even experiment with underbody spoilers to increase it's stability at higher speed.

Let me know what you do for underside work, mine having the 2 inch body lift I've been thinking about shifting a few things up higher and like the tank etc, and finding a way to make an aluminum skin where I don't need the heavy skids. Just to flatten out the bottom and help with air flow. I know for my off road in it won't give me protection, but if it's simple I can replace it as needed when I do hit things. And it would give some protection from all the salt on the winter roads to the underside. And cut down on the pressure washing after I've been in mud lol

Oooh I got some plans. First thing will be to find a model with the manual transmission in it and go from there, they seem a bit hard to come by but it'd be worth it to tinker around with the 5spd manual and experiment with dropping in a V6. Even thinking about re-tuning the computer or swapping. Someone mentioned the Mitsu 3G Eclipse may be compatible and it's flashable too.
