I think the XS only came in 2 or 3 colors black, silver, and red. But I was picky about what I was looking the 3.5L was a must and cost was an issue so XS was what I wanted only found red. Kind of funny the color is Phoenix Red and I live in a suburb of Phoenix.

Just a honduran with a thing for motors and cars, I am an electronics technician but work in a call center as a quality supervisor. My name is Mauricio and after being a Ford Ranger fan since i was raised around Rangers in our farm went to a Mazda 3 because of gas prices but couldnt feel in my ambient. Traded it for the Mitsu Montero Sport. funny how I used to say I didn't like the Sports because of their simple/old guy style dash and such; and now years later that's what brought me to them. Got an auto SUV because I have plans on getting married, I recently got engaged on Dec 24th. I consider this the best vehicle to keep both sides happy, it has rwd and a gutsy engine for my manhood and also enough room, soft ride and auto trans to consider it a family vehicle and my fiance loves to drive it.

Since it's slow here, just thought I'd post an introduction. I'm Mike and Clarksville TN is home. I work as an industrial printer tech by day and a grease monkey in the evenings (when possible). My job has me travelling quite often, so I sometimes don't get to tinker with the Monteros for an extended period. I ended up with Monteros due to looking for a decent SUV around the 2000 years that could be paid for by cash and had narrowed the search down to a couple of brands. I had noticed that other brands of that era had quite a few advertised with transmission failures (mostly Isuzu) and others that had serious costly failures that wouldn't occur till 100k miles or later (radiator/tranny issues on '05+ Nissan XTerra and Pathfinders), and then other SUV brands that just didn't age very well. The Montero and 4Runner were the only two that didn't show constant bad transmissions or any other expensive issues, so the choice was easy since the Montero was quite a bit cheaper (plus, had a better design, IMO). Don't regret the choice.
