Ok ,so to lower the front i adjust the torsion bar (front) and for the rear i use spring clamps (at least 3 coils). However, would i need to change the shock lenghs? would i need different shocks ? for a smoother ride ? and wat shocks would u recommend for the best ride ?

why is everybody using spring clamps and cutting springs to lower the rear cant you just get lowering blocks like the mini trucks use since the axle is above the springs?

This thread is ancient, lol. But no, you can't just use blocks, because only the 1997-1999 Montero Sports use leaf springs under the axle (what you're talking about) What they were all talking about is the 2000-2004 Montero Sports most likely which have coils in the rear.

I am a long time owner and member of a Subaru forums been modding Subies for more than 10 years..My Montero is my get around suv but want to add some performance to it; Exhaust, suspension upgrades I knoow it cant handle like a car but tuning is in my blood..

Haha, no worries, wasn't burning you or anything! Just informing anybody and yourself about the known difference between the Montero Sports. Good to see new members ready to break into their MS's though! Once again sorry, didn't mean to come across like that
