I'm pretty sure with how much debt I've piled up and how much I don't have a job and need money, I'm gonna have to get rid of my Tero. I was wanting some opinions of how much I should ask for it? I was thinking $9,000 and go down to $8250-8500. I bought it for $7600 completely stock with 108,000 miles Jan. of last year. Since then I've added:
L.E.D. multi-pattern underbody lights L.E.D. underdash lights superblue headlights K&N air filter Magnaflow muffler with chrome tip blue tubing on engine yellowtop battery 4G RockFosgate wiring 5 farad capacitor relocated Pioneer CD/MP3/WMA head unit Infinity Reference components in front doors Alpine Type S coaxials in rear doors white-face guage cluster and A/C panel 22" Viscera rims 265/35R22 Falken tires shaved badges 5% tint on top of 20% tint 10.4" flip down monitor DVD player keyless entry with remote start steel-braided radiator hose
I was gonna put it on ebay with a $9,250 buy it now and throw in the system if it was purchased through buy it now.
System is 2 15" Kicker CVRs with a 1000.1 JL Audio amp
I was also gonna fix all the scratches and dents before selling too.
Mechanically it runs fine. It now has 146,000 miles and I've added new spark plugs and PCV valve, front rotors and pads. Transmission shifts smoothly. There's a couple cigarette burns in the driver seat and door panel and gorilla glue stuck to the headliner.
So, how much do you think I can get out of it?

not to fun you or anything, but what about getting a job? the tero sounds sweet, hate for you give it up. sometimes all the extras in a car do not make it worth more, sometimes. not sure what people will pay for a hopped up monty. best of luck.

part out the system and wheels. anytime you modify a vehicle, you decrease the range of people interested in your car. the tints do not help much because your car won't pass inspection with it on. you also have a lot of miles on it, and not everyone understands that the montero sport is pretty bulletproof (minus the electronics).
do you have another vehicle you can use if you sell the montero sport? good luck whatever you decide.

I've been looking for a job, but I have bills that I have to pay soon. Bills that not even an entire paycheck could cover. As I said I bought the vehicle for $7600 and I've added close to $8500 in aftermarket and the recent maintenance fixes. Hopefully it will sell to someone in Kentucky, then it won't even need to go through inspection. For some reason they don't inspect anymore since I'm in redneck-ville where even the cops have straight pipes and no cats or stacks on their big Chevy's and Dodge's, and if someone was stopped for tint or anything else not redneck-oriented there would be a big uproar. I guess I'm more just wishful thinking on the price. I have a car my buddy could loan me, which is actually my old car, a 96 Eclipse. I was planning on taking 3 or 4 grand out of what I got and buying a Thunderbird SC in good shape cause my uncle used to have one when I was a kid and he's the reason I'm hooked on cars in the first place. Either that or a late model 2WD S10 Blazer. I would take off the rims, but someone stole the stock wheels while they were in storage.

a long time ago a buddy of mine was in the same boat. he took out a personal loan with his truck as the collateral. got just enough to pay the billman for a bit. now that doesn't solve the cashflow problem, but maybe you could make the loan payments easier then the big bills that are due. i'm in cincy, where are you?

I was thinking about that, I'm in Lexington, KY actually, about an hour and a half away from you. See, the problem is that the biggest bill I have is a loan, so I'm not sure if the bank will give me a second loan to pay off the first one.

you would do better selling all the aftermarket parts, instead of leaving them in the car. After you do that, you need to find a car max, they will buy your car, without you buying one of thiers.

dude that really sux! i agree tho its better to pull that stuff. it will be more of a hinderance to sell if u cant sell it yourself. the bad thing is with the milage it wont be worth a whole lot. i saw a 98 around here going for like 7g. but i dont know the mileage.

but as you all have pointed out, there aren't that many custom Tero's around. Especially down my way, so if I were to part it out, I'd be stuck with alot of aftermarket parts and no buyers. Plus, I don't have the stock wheels, and stock wheels are expensive as a mofo, so I might as well leave the rims on the truck, and in doing that, there's no point in pulling everything else off. I mean, I could pull some of the universal things like the CD player and underbody lights, but some of the LEDs are out in the lights, and I'm pretty sure the next thing I buy is already gonna be modified. I'm looking at a '95 Camaro with open headers and twin turbos with juice that can do a 1/4 mile in 9.4 sec. lol

yeah, I change my mind on the Chevy. I'm trying to look more for gas efficient cars. Now I'm either gonna go with a bagged S10, stock Thunderbird SC, Mark VIII, or I might just give in and join the crowd of Honda's or Eclipse's. I don't know yet. It more just depends on how much I can actually get out of my truck.

those are pretty nice rims where did you get them and how much? bolt pattern?
I bought my 2000 ES about 19 months ago for 7,000 with 90k miles on it and have put about $1500 into it since and it's at 107k miles now. Seems like people pay more for the older style Tero for some reason.
