alright here we go i am doing an install on my 01 montero sport xls. i have 2 runs of 0/1 gauge power and 0/1 of negative for my batteries and now i bought and received my alternator from excessive amperage 200amp and here is the problem with it. The alternator pulley is dented and the pulley is too big for the belt. What is the torque specs on the pulley of the stock because i was gonna swap the pulley out from the stock alternator and the new one. could anyone tell me?

Not to talk bad about nathan and excessive amperage but this happens quite often with his alts. But i guess that's what you get for paying 360 for a HO alt. He seems like a cool guy and im sure will try and help you out.
Make sure you have 2 runs of 1/0 for the ground as well as the power. What are you running that requires 2 runs of 1/0? just curious. I have some SPL info on the MS if that what you're going for.

alright. Tell me what equipment you will be using. The montero sport will generally be loudest with subs up port back. Unless you are going walled. There are bars that help support the rear compartments. I took those completley out and use the existing bolt holes as ground points. they offered very low resistance path back to the battery.

With the montero sport or at least mine anyway. when you disconnect the batt you have to reset the idle. All you do is after putting the neg terminal back on start the car and let it run for 20mins(long time i know) Don't touch the gas/ brake, or anything during this just let the car run then your car wont die at idle.
As to the equipment i've found MA audio to be decent budget stuff but i would recomend getting replacments now since their amps are prone to smoking and subs to blowing on burps. Not bashing them. ive seen guys do 160s with MA equipment but just know what you are doing. Great choice on the batteries. Im currently dong some resonant frequency testing on my montero so ill let you know how that goes.

Hey I'm about to get one of those EA alternators. What problems have you run into with Nathan? Did the alternator just bolt in or did you need to do some custom work to get it to fit?

TIM i would suggest you look around for alt companies. Motorcityreman. HOalternarors.com Just look around buying the cheapest alt is not the best option.

EA was the only company that even said they could do an alternator for my MS. I didn't just pick them because they were the cheapest. I want something that will last and work properly, not cause problems.

TIM is EA is the only brand that you found that made an alt then you didn't search around to much.
