So I went against all odds and bought myself JET V-Force/Power Control Unit. ;D Not sure how much good it is going to do but... someone has to try things, right But before I can see if it works, I need some help with installation The thing is that installation instructions come for Mitsubishi 3000GT. I know that 3000 has the same 6G72 engines but... the color of the wirring is different. So I wanted to ask if anybody has access to 3000 and could tell me the colors of MAF Sensor and TPS. I need to know which wire is BRN/RED on the TPS and wich wire is ORANGE on the MAF sensor. Any help is much appreciated.

before doing any snipping Just FYI the MAFS is a frequency based unit. NOT voltage based. So I would double check with Limited or Joel first.

So I called JET today for assistance and the guy on the phone told me that for 2004 model I should connect to MAP sensor and not MAFS.... I got very exited but.... I have no idea where the MAP sensor is located (I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to electrical parts) Please help me to find MAPS. Thank you

These trucks dont have a MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure) only MAF which is why the sport is not on the list of vehicles the v-force is compatiable with. The best bet is to send the ecu in to jet for a reprogram as I did if you want to modify the ECU.

Is it a good thing he didnt start snipping wires on the MAFS cwic?

To send my ECU was my original thought but I live in Kuwait and I can't afford to stay without a car for so long... So when I checked the JET website application page it says Mitsubishi ALL models from 1992 and up... Guys do you think the MAF and TPS wiring on 3000gt is different than MS??? being the same 6G72 and all...
Regards from very warm Kuwait

Is it a good thing he didnt start snipping wires on the MAFS cwic? I actually was thinking to do that Do you think it would be very bad if I tried to connect it and if it didn't work, could I just reconnect the wires back.... Would it be very harmfull? Regards Val

You could prob do that. Unplug battery, and make sure you have good connections if you cut it and reconnect.

Ya you could seriously F*** up your MAFS if you start splicing wires. Those things are so sensitive.

So I've done it..... ;D I decided to go ahead and try to connect it. First wire cut on MAFS was the wrong one but the second try was successful. I know that many of you are sceptical about this project of mine and I know that without Dyno results I would not be able to prove that it was worth it. But it was worth it for me ;D I feel the difference in throtle response and acceleration. I understand that at the most I could gain is 5-10 HP but when I go to the desert every extra 'ponny' counts. The only not so good thing is- engine check light comes on after 2min of starting the car... I will call JET tomorrow to ask about it, but I think that it's because ECU reacts to the chip... any thoughts? Regards Val

the only reason the CEL would come on is you got a loose connection or a wire reversed

the only reason the CEL would come on is you got a loose connection or a wire reversed Would the engine still work with no problems if I would have loose or wrong connection? I've no idea when it comes to electrical stuff...

or you could have it too lean maybe. Cwic mentioned if you run your monty too lean it will throw a CEL and it could fry your rings.

I would not leave it at that. I would find out what the cell was. Also, give more detail about how you did it so others can try if interested. You would not necessaraly need a dyno to measure results. You could do a couple of 0-60 timed runs with and without the jet to see if there is any diff in your times. That is what I did till I found a dyno.
