I know some of you guys/gals have CB radios, any luck on finding a functional good spot? We're all some what limited in the space department with our rigs. I'm just having troubles thinking of a place to put it. Any ideas?

Sweet, that's exactly one of the many spots I was thinking. I'll probably put it there then. (unless a better spot pops up!) Thanks!

I put mine on the passenger side of the tranny hump just in front of the seat, facing up at me. I run the ant. cables under the seats for a dual ant setup. Works awesome, and its out of my way. The only issue I see with it is gotta be careful about moisture on the pass. floorboard, but other than that I wouldn't have it anywhere else.. I thought about putting it in front of the shifter below the radio...dunno if I'll move it though..

Mine is under the driver's seat. Everything (dispay and controls) is on the mike and that goes into the central contsole when I do not use the radio. Pretty slick and does not draw unneded attention when I park outside for the night.

Here ya go. Cobra 18. Will eventually be replaced by a Uniden 880 or 980 Bearcat single-din radio.

I've got mine mounted on the dash itself. I had the idea of doing under the radio in the cubby hole area, and since I have a double din. But I couldn't do it without modification due to the design of the face.

But I couldn't do it without modification due to the design of the face. I've been trying to work this out for years. I use a small Uniden so it won't fit where the previous posters located theirs. Mine currently sits free under the passenger side seat until its needed. Sigh. Thought about attaching it to the side of the console but passenger space is limited. Anything sticking out from the tunnel is definitely gonna get bashed when wheeling. I've got my dual t-case shifters mounted in front of the driver seat down low on the tunnel and I STILL manage to kick the shifters on a regular basis. No way I want it on top the dash. Not really possible since I have the gauge pod in 3 of my 4 Sports. Besides just not really having the room, it would obstruct my vision to much off road. Even my Garmin GPS which sits next to the pod is bad that way. Thinking I may have to swap for a all-in-the-mic setup and stash the controller under the driver's seat. Edward

I have one that is amazing and doesn't take up any space. Used it for about 2-3 years after the cobra literally cooked itself. Lol

Does your MS have a clock in-between your sun visors? If not you could always mount it there. I had a Nissan Xterra and I had a Cobra 20 chrome mounted up top. Definitely looked good.

I've been holding off getting something like that because the shop I get my radio stuff from goes through and tweaks them to get the absolute max power legally possible. Can't do that with the hand held units. Edward

Does your MS have a clock in-between your sun visors? If not you could always mount it there. I had a Nissan Xterra and I had a Cobra 20 chrome mounted up top. Definitely looked good. I have two '97 LS's and one '99 Limited, so both 'gen 1' Sports. The '97s have the full roof console (no sun roof) and the '99 has the half roof console (sun roof). All three have the pod on the dash with voltage, compass, outside temp, and oil pressure. The only thing in the upper console is the clock. The rear view mirror on the gen 1 is just a mirror. No compass or outside temp like the gen 2. The roof console (both short and long) has the pilots lamps and clock - and in the case of my '99 the switch for the sun roof. Removing the roof console isn't really practical and I'm not sure what you'd mount the CB to anyway. The console mounts are not very sturdy - just made to hold up some plastic. The headliner material is definitely not sturdy enough. But, I know what you're talking about. That's a common location for a lot of vehicles. Edward
