Hi guys! Thought I might get some advice here. I recently had a lot of work on my 2000 MS. Replaced valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, rear cam orings, oil change, coolant flush idle air controller cleaning and seafoaming gas tank and crank case. All those things were done without encountering any problems. But yesterday 2 days after all the works I did some seafoaming using the pcv valve tube going inside the intake. I was supposed to do it together with the gas tank and crank case but I spilled the other 1/3 of the bottle that was supposed to go thru the pcv. So I bought some yesterday and continued the process as it said on the instructions. After being halfway done with getting all seafoam in, the engine stalled during the application. So I just started it again and had it finish up some of the leftover seafoam. Then after that I shut the engine and then 15 mins. after I started it back up and it started putting out white smoke. Assuming it was normal when I started hearing some knocking sounds I revved up the engine and started driving it about 10-12 miles and then went back home but the knocking was still there and louder. I just wanted to clean the intake plenum and valve chamber because it had a lot of black soot and oil because of the previous problems, and now I am facing an even greater one becuase of the knocking. But in fairness to seafoam I think it worked because I noticed some power while I was driving it last night and the hesitation before shifting speed was lower now. Except that knocking noise which I still had until this morning when I started it again. I am starting to worry too much and hopefully somebody can give me a solution and advice. All I wanted was to fix the problems. Thank you!

I guess nobody had any knocking experience yet after seafoaming in this forum? It's been 3 dissapointing days for me already coz the knocking hasn't been gone. I even tried calling seafoam sales and they have yet to call me back. One sales guy over there told me it might just be some carbon deposits that became solid that's became loose and suggested me to repeat the process putting another dose of seafoam through the pcv intake to make the rattling go away. I just need to get opinions from this website which I beleive more.

Are you sure its.not your lifters? Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards I was thinking about that but when I put my hand on both valve covers, it felt like it was not coming from there. But when I touch the part where you pour in your engine oil, that is where the most I can feel the knocking or rattling since it has a bracket connected down to the front part of the engine where the belts are. Our member here "darkside" asked if it may be the timing belt tensioner thats seizing up. I am trying to find a way to upload maybe a short video of it here via you tube but I do not know how to post the link. I even spoke to a seafoam sale agent and he told me to try and repeat the process going through the pcv intake because there might have been some carbon deposits that solidified inside and needs to be broken down again to get flushed out the tailpipe. But thanks for the input bdmontero. Sent from my MB865 using proboards
