I recently purchased a 99 Montero Sport 3.5 2 wheel drive. I tried the suggested rev the engine to 3,000 rpm to bleed the lifters but....
I believe that my solution is to replace the lifters when I change the spark plugs, wires and vacuum lines. Any idea where I can find step by step instructions preferably with some pictures on how to proceed with this? I have access to a garage and tools and can pretty much figure most of this out, but I definitely want to make certain that I also have the proper torque specs when I put 'HUMPTY DUMPTY" back together again.
