Hey guys,
I just had the front end up and noticed wheel play in my passenger side front wheel. No weird noise or clunk sounds when driving...but the play is noticeable when I pull on the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock. Should I be thinking this is wheel bearing issue or is this possible a lower ball joint that lets the movement. I'll investigate further but rain has me stopped for the day.
Thanks in advance.

I always use a BIG pry bar and push on them. With the wheels raised grab it at the 3 and 9 position and try and shake it up and down and left and right. Any movement over X amount should be replaced. The wheel bearings need around 120 ft lbs to be set. You then back off to 0 ft lbs. Then torque to 18-20 ft lbs and reinstall the jam nut and two brass screws. Its a lot of work to get to them but well worth the extra effort.

Sounds good....I'll work on it this week and get a feel for where the problem sits.

Hey jpele, Not sure if you ever got this fixed, but I had a similar problem on my 02 MS. I took off the hub cap, removed the dust cap, and out fell my spring-clip that's supposed to hold the axle shaft in place! I could literally pull the CV joint from the inside of the wheel out!! Anyway... re-attached the spring clip in that little groove on the shaft and it was fixed. Made a HUGE difference in handleing... now that my front wheels aren't about to fall off!

Just had the same issue. I changed the bearings and it fixed the issue. The old bearings had a a lot of play.
