I think I've got about a two week window where time will free up at work. I wanted to add locking hubs to my 97 sport so before I go shopping, what are some of the better choices to look for? Also, at 250k so I thought I'd replace the bearings while I'm in the area. Generally I go with OEM parts but if you've ran across a good proven HD set I'm interested.
Thanks, Mark

I picked up on that in your sig line and I've sent an email to one possible source but one problem I'm having since it's a retrofit for the first gen is that I can't find any clear part numbers or cross reference. Aisin's web page is showing P/N FHM-002 and FHM-003 listed for MONTERO, SHOGUN,PAGERO (nothing on the Sport). Do you know a good number or cross reference vehicle to use as a base for 97-99 Montero Sport? I've been searching 28 spline 6 bolt with no clear winners. Warn shows that spec for a Nissan but has no Mitsubishi listings for their Premium hubs and other than the email request I sent for the AISIN my google foo must be weak trying to pick up on a proper part number.

I'm still waiting on the guy who had Aisin hubs for sale to reply. I found the standard Warn hubs that the seller states will fit the first Gen MS for sale on Ebay when I first started looking, but the odd thing is that when I sent a email to Warn they stated they don't make a hub for our vehicles???

I can try to find you some aisin hubs but they are few and far between. I'll keep my eye out though.

Even just a part number or compatible vehicle to use on a search could help. It's a want, not an absolute need at this point but I figure if I'm going to do it I might as well use quality parts

The montero and montero sport have a 28 spline hub. Search for MONTERO AISIN on ebay or the web.

Do you know if the FHM002 AISIN is the part number you used on your sport? I sent them a question but the pull down states it won't fit but that may just be due to the fact that the 97 MS didn't come with lockers from the factory and it doesn't recognize it as a usable part.

Thanks on the part number, RockAuto had the best price @125. ECU change and Flowmaster 44 series muffler/tailpipe has got most of the power back. When the hubs come in I think I'll have most of the driveability back. Thanks for taking the time to hook a brother up.
