... Maybe you got too many fins bent on your radiator and isn't cooling as efficient...seems simple but will drive you crazy. having a problem like this now but with AC. lol Don't forget dirty radiator and/or A/C condenser. Not inside, but on the outside. After a couple hundred thousand miles - especially if there's a lot of dirt roads involved and you're in an area with a lot of plant matter/bugs - the fins will crud up with build up. I chased a running hot problem (and getting worse over the years) in my big Sport for several years. I replaced the condenser (pin hole) and went through all the above mentioned usual. Decided to swap to electric fans and had the radiator out so I took the time to take a hose to it before reinstalling everything. I spent the better part of an hour with a high pressure sprayer hosing bugs, leaves, and cotton from Cottonwood trees and dirt out of the fins. Didn't look all that bad when I started, but good God, what a mess. I couldn't believe that a radiator that small could hold that much CRUD. Might consider taking the radiator out and taking it to a car wash. I used the house water so it was cold and normal residential pressure - and just water. Turn is on engine degreaser, hose it down, let it sit for a few minutes and then turn it to soap. Make sure you hose it down from the engine side. Do it in reverse of air flow or you'll just jam whats in there in even tighter. Also, make sure you duct tape the in/out hose openings and the tranny cooler ports before starting this. You don't want soap and crud getting inside. Just be VERY, VERY careful when you do this if you're taking it to a car wash. That's an aluminum radiator and car wash pressure will damage the core if you're not careful. Might be something. After I did mine, that was the last time I had the trouble described here. Edward

Edward We'll this is definetly worth a try, the truck has lived in the mountains, the dessert off of a dirt road, near cotton trees, and commuting through country roads in big seasons. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!! I'll post all that I do with hopefully a positive outcome. More than likely I'll do everything and summer/the heat will be over till next year......

Edward Good call, that seemed to help my AC a bit. I did find out my condenser fan was hitting the condenser every now and then. Not sure why though. Bent the fins back, degreased, pulled out rocks and shot it down. Put a small washer on the bolts too to prevent the fan from smashing up again.
