Certain vibrations could be due to a motor mount but unlikely with these. Don't hear to often about them failing even with a lot of miles. mine only seems to vibrate/pulse when I cold start the engine and it's idling.

I only had an obdII scanner, was still contemplating on the Ultragauge. will do.....hope the code doesn't come back.....only problem I had was there really slight vibration (intermittent) I could feel when stopped on the light, I can feel it more on the pedal...seems like a slight surge. I am having this vibration issue as well, If you find out what's causing it I would love to know. I am actually leaning towards the MAF sensor, but let you know if get to fix that littlest critter....

So far, with my codes, I have had not had any odd driving behaviors... thank the lord. Spouse would have strung me up if the Sport was driving bad. Have you guys swapped out fuel filters recently? Maybe try a seafoam treatment via a vacuum line and put some in your gas tank. I try to throw in some lucas fuel treatment now and again. I plan to get some of the BG treatments when I get the sport back. One for the oil (BG MOA) and for the fuel (BG 44k). The ones that Edward uses... he says MOA every oil change with his and 44k every 6 months. The 44k is supposed to clean out your fuel system beautifully! I'm gonna give it a shot! Maybe it could help with vibration when running. I know the lucas solved my uncles rough idle on his GMC. I borrowed it and he said ti was running rough. I threw in some lucas... got a CEL for a brief bit and it self cleared and the truck ran better. Guessing the CEL was a misfire. When he got it back he said the truck never ran better. Just something to try before you opt to get an expensive MAF

With the bird i had a heck of time getting a good maf out of the junk yard... might grab more then one if they are cheap.
Do our sports use the same MAF? 3.0 versus 3.5? If so we could always get together and try to swap them and see if the behavior goes or stays

The 3.0 in the sport, eclipse, endeavor, and galant; as well as the 2.4 liter variation of the endeavor, eclipse, and galant use the same where as the sport 3.5 use the same one that the Montero 3.5, 3.8 as well as the the vehicles that are equipped with MIVEC and MVIM. I'm sure I left a few out or got some mixed up but the short answer is no. That is from 1999-2005.

Far as I know, the MAF is the same for almost every 3.0L & 3.5L Mitsubishi made between 1990 and about 2004 excluding those that used the new 'improved' 'EVO' MAF. The MAF in my big Sport is from a '90s GT3000 if I remember correctly. The MAF in my 3.5L '03 looks exactly like the MAF in my '97 3.0L. And, the 3.5L MAF in my '99 is the exact same MAF as the '97-'99 3.0L, which is the same MAF in the Eclipse, 3000GT, Dimonte, Gallant, etc. Edward

They probably are all the same even though some have different part numbers. Possibly the size and shape of the duct has something to do with it? The ones I listed above all use the same part numbers. They had the diamanté and 3Kgt listed with a different part number (assuming cause the DOHC) and also a different one for the turbo variant. This all depends on where you look to I suppose. I usually call the dealer and give my vin when looking at/for certain important parts.

Update on my P0401 issue: Replaced PCV Valve yesterday, cleared code and SES popped up again at 28 miles. Today, replaced all 5/32 vacuum line hoses. In the process on doing so, while taking off the hose on the bottom part of the EGR solenoid valve (NAPA), the plastic piece broke off and came with the hose, arrghh!!!....good thing I still kept my old OEM solenoid and swapped it out. Still worked fine and even piching the hose, almost killed the engine, shows it is still working....I'll just keep using it until I get to order an OEM one, who know, cross my fingers, it will resolve my issue....LOL! Update on my P0401 issue pursuit: 210 miles now and still no SES light.......I just ordered the MCCC/Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner from Amazon but will hold off the treatment for now.....I still have that low idle vibration especially when not fully warmed up but just get's minimized but I can feel it is still there when engine has run miles and already at optimum temp.

Could be a small vacuum leak or something like a restricted fuel filter ? If you have any oil leaks id start there, You can use carb cleaner to try trace down where the vacuum leak is.

Guess a vacuum leak will throw the P0401 code again? Fuel filter was just replaced recently during the plug change as well as valve cover to address my oil leak issues. Thanks for the tip on the carb cleaner, will try that.
