hey Red, is the one with the colors a pic of your actual engine?.......the center nipple hose from the egr modulator was consistent with mine, it goes to the E port.....but noticed that bigger hose that is connected to another valve (not sure the name is) next to the egr solenoid valve, yours was going back to metal tubing that goes downward to the engine driver's side, mine goes back to the top nipple of the plenum.....I never messed with that and hope somebody can check & chime in.....do you also know what that big circular valve on top is? View AttachmentView AttachmentYes that was my actual motor. Took pic and printed at work. Colored and scanned back into digital version. Let me look at the other thicker one... I had planned to replace those hoses next, but the Sport had other plans. Hmmmm based on my pic... ours is connected in opposite. Mine appear to have been replaced before me... PO... there was a jagged edge on the hose. If i go by the diagram i found and posted... maybe the purge control solenoid is what the 2 med hoses are connected to? Would that be the same thing as evap solenoid Jkdv8?? mounted on the same bracket as the egr solenoid?? Funny our cruise controls are mounted in different locations. That and my egr lines have sections of hard metal attached to the plenum. Your 2 appear to be one long hose from throttle body to the red valve and egr solenoid. Red....mine's a 3.5 XLS 02, yours?......think your engine is the same on this one on a DIY thread..... link.......the bigger hose was run the same as mine, could be your P0401 solution....

Ah... i forgot you have the 3.5... mine is the 3.0 I well this definately proves mine has been swapped... however... notice the solenoids are different as well. Interesting. Maybe a new thread is needed to clear this finding up. Here is mine... Close up of mine: And the sport from the tutorial... Close up of tutorial sport... ok what the heck is the big bulbous thing in the vacuum line that runs to the drivers side. Sitting next to the egr in this pic. Mine does not have it. Should it? Is it a check valve so the air only goes 1 way?

wonder if anybody has tried this can on their trucks???.....people swear how effective it is on removing carbon deposits, way better than seafoam as they say...

You know a guy at dodge this whole time and don't tell us? Lol. I know a guy at Ford but he is always working on his own stuff! Lol

The other solenoid on the bracket with the egr solenoid is the for the Evap. Think mine is routed the same as Colten mentions. View AttachmentRed circle is the egr valve and the green is for the cruise control. Thanks for identifying those parts for me and also validating that bigger hose run. Not a problem. Good eye noticing the backwards hose route on reds truck and sorry for misspelling your alias. Autocorrect fail. But yea I'm quite curious if that mopar stuff is better than seafoam.

Lol Sent from my SM-N900V using proboards Well I tried getting parts thru Dodge and it was a dead end. He used to be a Ford guy... now doing light tech work at Dodge. Just found out a month or so ago.

Update on my P0401 issue:
Replaced PCV Valve yesterday, cleared code and SES popped up again at 28 miles. Today, replaced all 5/32 vacuum line hoses. In the process on doing so, while taking off the hose on the bottom part of the EGR solenoid valve (NAPA), the plastic piece broke off and came with the hose, arrghh!!!....good thing I still kept my old OEM solenoid and swapped it out. Still worked fine and even piching the hose, almost killed the engine, shows it is still working....I'll just keep using it until I get to order an OEM one, who know, cross my fingers, it will resolve my issue....LOL!

Did you have a rough idle. Mine was idling rough and when I pinched the opposite line used to stall it the idle smoothed out cause the aftermarket solenoid was leaking vac.

Surprisingly it is even idling smoother on the old mitsu solenoid.....almost stall when I pinch the hose......also accelerates better and not sure if it's placebo effect but felt tighter run & acceleration even on uphill climbs......no P0401 yet and keeping my fingers crossed until I get it to to test run more miles this weekend since I garage it at my workplace on weekdays.

Do you have an obdII interface module and a way to re a d info in real time like the Torque app? I know in torque I can watch for when the computer finishes each test that can trigger a SES light.

I only had an obdII scanner, was still contemplating on the Ultragauge. will do.....hope the code doesn't come back.....only problem I had was there really slight vibration (intermittent) I could feel when stopped on the light, I can feel it more on the pedal...seems like a slight surge.

I am having this vibration issue as well, If you find out what's causing it I would love to know.

Certain vibrations could be due to a motor mount but unlikely with these. Don't hear to often about them failing even with a lot of miles.
