So my 2000 monterro sport is having shudder issues at lower speeds, like between 1st & 2nd, for a few seconds then it stops. 134k miles, i dont think the transmission fluid has ever been changed.
I called the local Mitsibishi Tech and he said if I do a flush of fluids theres a 50% chance it will fix the problem and help the transmission, or theres a 50% chance it will get worse because it has gone so long without a transmission fluid change. He told me he wouldn't risk it.
So do i just keep driving my car and hope the transmission doesn't die? How many more miles do do I have on the car? I'm in california temporarily and I have to drive back home to Colorado in a couple of months, am I screwed? Should I use Dr. Tranny?
Sorry for all the questions, I just don't know anything about cars and I've been getting so much bad news recently, im literally living in my car right now and now its dieing on me ughhhhhhhh. so stressed. any help appreciated. thanks so much!

Have a flush & fill with Diamond SPIII trans oil at the dealership....had same issue before and felt the shuddering between 35-40mph....thought too that my tranny is going out.....gone just right after I left the dealership.....goodluck!

If putting in good fresh fluid breaks it, then it was already broken and you're driving on borrowed time I had 175k miles on mine when it got flushed the first time and new filter etc done. Shifts su per smooth now.
