Who is it or is there aftermarket? There is a place in Australia I THINK that MIGHT still make them for a small fortune. I would think about converting your TC to a NPxxx. Huge gain over factory and aftermarket support would be limitless.

one of you guys mentiond a tommy guy? guess ill go thru the posts again. it is much easier for me to go thru my transfer case for what I want to do at this point. Mark in Australia. Yes, they're still in business and still make gears. Marks 4WDI like Mark. Good people. Gears are EXPENSIVE, though. Honestly, if you have a '97-99 with the AW4 A/T it is WAY cheaper to swap the output shaft, output adapter housing and install a NP of your choice. NP231 - standard 2WD, 4HI, 4LO 2.72:1 NP242 - 2WD, 4HI, 4LO, AWD 2.72:1 Rubicon Rock-Trac - 2WD, 4HI, 4LO 4:1 NP231s are dime a dozen. Guys have got those out of the pull-a-part yards for $75-150 in good shape. The NP242 is a little more expensive because of the AWD and they're aren't quite as many of them. The Rock-Track is the hotness. It is also bigger than the NP231/NP242 and will probably require a 1"-2" body lift but it is super heavy duty and has the 4:1 t-case gears. You will need a SYE for the rear output of the NP231 and NP242. Either follow the instructions on 4x4wire for getting the speedo to work with the Mitsu setup, OR get a Terra ultra-short SYE with the electronic VSS and an Dakota Digital SGI-5. Last time I checked, Mark's gears were in the $1300 range w/o shipping. $150 t-case $250 SYE $90 SGI-5 $200 output shaft/housing $600 driveshafts ----- $1290 That's full retail worst case costs. Anyway, something to think about. Unfortunately, if you have a M/T you're screwed. You can have an adapter made but its not worth the costs unless you're planning on hard core wheeling. For the average driver/camping/fire road runner, you're better off with Mark's gears. If you happen to have the Gen 2 A/T in a Gen 1 '99 or a Gen 2 (non-AWD), you can swap in the AW4 but it requires concessions that aren't going to be practical for the average person. It'll also be about $500 more expensive. Edward

I have manual trans, and for what he wants for that gearset I would want 4:1 OUCH! Yea, like I said. Expensive. 2.88:1 and even 3:1 isn't worth $1300-1500. Ok. Weeelllllll, so have you considered swapping in an AW4? As much as it pains me to say this, that's a better solution than trying to deal with the M/T and crappy 1.92:1 t-case. Not having a SYE solution for the Mitsu t-case is really a PITA and its IMPORTANT. More so than the gears when you're talking about wheeling. Edward
