These are from my '99 service manual. Should be the same for 2000(?) Now we're talking. Thank you! This indicates I should find a pure red wire at the E42-plug, if I read correct it is the #16 at that plug. OK, something to try. Now it's time for sleep here, will try this tomorrow. BTW: Where did you find this manual? I have not found any good manuals for this car yet.. Found one, who seems OK for the mecanics, but still miss the electric... Naah, I am not giving up easy on this one. It have to be a reverse signal in the dash-area, I am quite sure. Just have to find the right one :-P

I bought the factory three-volume set many years ago after I bought my MS. I don' t know if they are still in print any longer.

I have found that fuse, but it seems to be powered all time? Sorry man it was worth a try. My manual is on pdf and inaccessible at the moment or I would've posted it but, looks like Dougazk pulled through. The paper back ones are sometimes hard to find and a bit pricey at times. PDF versions are usually on ebay for cheap. I bought the factory three-volume set many years ago after I bought my MS. I don' t know if they are still in print any longer. If you could Dougazk look in what I believe is the splice locations section to show him where the corresponding connectors are.

Try the FSMs on mitsubishilinks.com, otherwise use the "R" lamp on your cluster and tap into that. That should run 12v when you select reverse. Otherwise run a relay but I'm guessing you don't need 12v as its just a remote wire

I installed my camera using a wireless transmitter. I just spliced to one of the reverse lights to power the camera and transmitter. Then wired the receiver to the acc line powering the headunit. In mine i just select camera on the headunit input and i can see what the camera sends. On my brother's we installed a rearview mirror with camera display so as soon he puts in reverse the image pops up in the mirror

The shifter doesnt have any electric signal when engaging reverse. Just the R light on the dash as jocks said

Quick reply: I found the correct cable! In a "hidden" connector behind the lower kickpanel at drivers side. Not able to upload pictures ATM, but will try to fix tomorrow. Now I have a fully working stereo with reverse camera, juppidoo :-D
Thanks alot for several good advises here, and special thank to Dougazk for scheme. Now I just need the scheme for central lock... Pinstryper? ;-)

OK. Here is attached some photos, that might help other to find the signal: First picture is the wire of interest. Second picture is the plug itself, as You see located behind kickpanel just above the carpet. Third picture is result. Happy about the picture quality. Even during night it is useable.

And it was BL%¤# cold to find the wire and fix the connection. In - 10 °C! Here me end my kid tests if reversecamera works. And we found the car behind, and it was easy to park I must add that I just love the heated treads in lower part of front window. This should be standard in all cars sold here

Yes. Like it is in rear window, but only where the wipers are, when they are in parked position. Never seen that on a car before. Nice now when it's winter and wipers normally would be frozen in park-position. I can take a picture tomorrow, when there is daylight. Now it is completely dark outside
