Hello all, New to Mitsubishi Montero Sport family and have questions. Using search function I have read about all problems with the rear end hitting bump stops/bottoming out when vehicle has passengers and or cargo. My vehicle has 110,000 and I am sure the shocks/struts have never been replaced. I have read about airlift 1000 which helps when towing but then gives bouncy ride when just doing normal driving. Then I have read about EMU lift but really don't want to raise and don't want to spend that kind of money. So what is left? Has anyone tried the Timbren suspension kit? www.suspensionconnection.com/mrmonsp-montero-load-support.html

I have the airlifts. They are bouncy when you keep the minimum 5 psi in when unloaded. But if you don't listen and run even less air it isn't that noticeable. So far my bags have held up fine (2 years) but your mileage may vary.

Did the airlifts cause your back end to go up any or did it just firm out the ride?

It all depends on how much air you put in. My front is lifted/leveled so it isn't an issue when I air mine up, in fact I almost wish it would go up more when I get a lot of weight back there. But if you add a lot of air and don't add weight yes it will go up some.
