Hello everybody, I'm new here and have very little idea how to use this great forum as efficient as possible because I'm not a skilled but basic computer user, and one more thing, English is my third language, so I will try my best communicating with my weak and plain English language, sorry about that. Recently I bought my second 2000 4WD Montero sport, I have another 2002 MS 2WD too, long story short I replaced the freewheel clutch switch because I had a flashing light at all 4H, 4L and 2H positions, lets say I solved the half of problems because now I have steady blinking light at 2H "normal driving position" 4H and 4L normal steady lit, so need your help, I already checked the famous solenoid assy. I removed the solenoid and check that solenoids by applying 12VDC and vacuum, apparently they are working OK, no significant leak, the Blue solenoid is %100 good, the yellow solenoid have a probably %5 leak, is that a problem? I don't know, I'm a good troubleshooter, years of experienced electronic, electric and machinery on deferent fields, by the way blinking 2H light starts after less than a mile driving and engine warm ups. Any idea? many thanks.

The leaking solenoid is more than likely the cause. Other possibilities are the switches on top of the transfer case but I would replace the leaking solenoid first.

Thank you jkdv8, I will replace the solenoids soon after part arrival, but how about the transfer case switch? I wasn't able to find the part order number, I checked many part stores online, so far no luck, If you know the part number let me know please, another question, the procedure of changing that switch, do I need to remove any major component to replace the switch? Thanks again.

Not a problem, one thing I forgot to mention is sometimes when the fulcrum at the base of the shifter disintegrates the little bits lodge themselves in between the shift forks and whatnot and keeps the shifter from fully engaging the selected position. If the shifter feels fine or you can feel it pop into place when shifting this probably isn't the cause.
As for the solenoid part number I'm not sure. I'm sure it's listed on here somewhere if you do a search. I believe it's called the freewheel clutch solenoid. As for replacement it's easier if you remove the air box.
I can't say in regards to the transfer case switches as I had the dealer replace mine the last time under warranty. There are 3 however. If you reach your hand up on top on the transfer case you should be able to feel them. I believe they are to the right of the lever. You may be able to access them by removing the shifters console portion and boot. I would definelty make sure the solenoid is good before diving into all that though.
