Awesome Job!!! Trout Dog... Also good note about having your system evacuated prior to disassembly.

How often did your compressor kick on and off. Mine kicks on and every about every 30 seconds.

My system was full of freon and still cut on\off bout every 2 sec. Over about a month it started doing it every 5 min, then every 2 min, then every 30 sec,, till it so bad it was doing it every 2 sec. Also the hose coming from the condenser was shaking violently, like there was a restriction in the system. Here is a video of what it was doing before I changed the expansion valve. s156.photobucket.com/albums/t34/troutdog311/?action=view¤t=100_2766.flv

sure helped me. although my symptoms were different. my compressor would seize up due to the expansion valve being clogged... the belt would slip and make an embarrassing squeal. Not to mention the air would be warm at that point. New shraeder valves, expansion joint and 134a was much cheaper than a possibly destroyed compressor.
