I've heard snowmobiles get pretty good gas mileage. lol just kidding, if you dont need a truck frame and your just on snow and ice, you really can't beat a subaru. And they get great MPG too.

If you don't need a truck frame and your on alot of snow and ice, as long as the snow isn't too deep. You really can't beat a VW Passat Wagon with the front wheel drive, 4 valve with the turbo. And they get great MPG too. It will beat the Subaru or any other 6 valve car or SUV out there any day and still get better gas MPG too. Just go get your self some good studded snow tires. Skid

What do you want to spend?? Are you looking for a cheap, used, winter-only vehicle? An all-year, used vehicle? A new vehicle? Jeez, be more specific. If you just want a 4wd beater to get around in...find an old Subaru or Toyota truck.
Want something nicer or newer?....post more specific info about your needs.

'03 EVO, about $31,000 sticker; EPA rated at 18city/26hwy MPG. Okay...back to my original question...what do you want to spend for something to slog around on icy roads??

04 Saab 9-3 or 9-5 these cars are great in the snow and get good gas milage. The 9-3 flys when you punch it.
