This may not be a big thing on the west coast, but In Ohio its pretty rare I just saw a Skyline GT-R. Could'nt figure it out at first but came around to the front and saw the emblem. Those things look great . So much better in person than in the NFS game.

Rumor originally was that the G35 coupe was to be based on the Skyline, however, you can all see that the similarities are few and far between (unless they update the Skyline to match). Skylines can actually be imported into the states, (albeit for a fee to change the windshield, bumpers, emissions, etc to meet national transportation requirements - don't forget about CA more stringent exhaust). Think they run anywhere from 35k for an R32 to 88k for an R34 (models). Too bad Nissan doesn't think there's a demand for these in the states, huh?

The import shop I used to go to when I was in Seattle had two Skylines. The owners got these car imported from Japan and paid big bucks for it. They said that they would've paid more if they want it to conform with US standards and since they are just used for display in the shop and at the car shows, they paid less. These car are bad *** like you said. But until NISMO start mass producing them for import here in the States, only few people can afford their price tag (we can get them cheap but the import tax and conversion fees thats gonna empty our bank accounts). Also on the same token, had a buddy stationed in Japan and ended up importing his Integra type R. Our type R here in the US are sissies compared to it's brothers born in Japan. Japanese Specs have higher RPM, more horsepower straight from the plant. This is also the reason why a lot of racers here order Japanese spec engines. By the way, my buddy ended giving that car up since he couldn't afford the yearly registration fee. AL
