With the increase of gasoline prices these past few months, i looked into getting a credit card with rewards or rebates for purchasing gas. I initially thought of getting a Citibank Shell card that offered a a 5% rebate on all Shell Gasoline purchases with a 1% rebate when used at other gas stations (with an 13.99% rate)- but didn't want to limit myself to Shell Gas (which tends to be higher priced anyways). So i went with the Chase PerfectCard Platinum (with a 13.74% rate) which offers a 6% rebate at ANY Gasoline station for gasoline purchases (for the 1st 90 days) as well as a 1% rebate for any other type of purchase. They goes down to 3% rebate after than. Good enough for me! I don't have any real debts at this time so i can pay the monthy balance off easy to prevent interest accural so the interest rate doesnt' really matter to me anyway. Does anyone else know of a better deal?

sounds good, but you say its only good for the 1st 90 days? Are you gonna cancel it after that?....and then get another one? ;D
I was thinking of getting a Shell card...but now that you mention there are other gas cards, I'll wait till I hear more options.

There's really no need to cancel after 30 days. To me, 3% is better than 0%. I'll take what i can get. I pay for my gas from my Visa Check Card anyways so i might as well take whatever discount i can find. If only Costo accepted credit cards for their gas, i'd get hooked up with the inexpensive stuff and still save on top of that....
