It a rebadged Dodge Dakota with a better warranty. I does have a few Mitsubishi add ons to seperate it from the Dakota, but the powertrain is all Chrysler.

Guess what- yes Dodge Dakota- but also you get a much more refined interior and fit and finish, and the 100K/10yr warranty and the maintenance of a Mitsu. Way better deal than just a plain Dodge. Mits makes a lot of parts for Chrysler- surely some part of the drivetrain is partly mits??

The engine and transmission are bullet proof and have losts of aftermarket support.
The engine is better than anything Mitsu has in the US currently IMO.

The 4.7l engine has not been in the market long enough to call it bulletporoof I think. Just looking back to the 3.0 V Toyota brought us in the early 90's. It powered everything from the camry to the 4runner and perfromed excellently in all vehicles while maintaining high reliability and longevity. This 4.7l v8 in the raider and dakota has only been around since the 99 Jeep grand cherokee redesign. Chrysler- regardless or division has had transmission issues for more than a decade now and showing little improvement year after year. This information can be found in any consumer reports magazine. Chrysler products are not bulleproof yet, but could be. Adding a super unreliable partner like Mercedes to the deal does not help their case at all.
