You have one sweet sport dc! I'm waiting for my 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain's to wear out so I can go to a 285/75/16 Goodyear MTR. I would have put them on in the first place but it's my wife's daily driver and I have to "ease" her into these things...
Looks like a great trip with some challenging wheeling!

Go with 33"s. Or even a 35. I'm running 33's right now. Gearing is holding me back from going 35's.

A 285/75/16 is the equivalent of a 33X11.5 so I am going to 33's. I've got 16" inch rims and don't want to change them at this piont.

DCSport-- Great writeup on your trip. I'm curious as to how you found all of these trails to run. Did you come across them in a book and if so which one?
A buddy of mine and I are thinking of going to Big Bear this Sunday for a little fun and might like to give one of these trails a try. Usually we stick to fire roads but I think something a little more adventurous might be in order.

What's left of the Big Bear/Lake Arrowhead/Crestline area after the fires??
My inlaws used to have a home in Crestline/Lake Gregory. I have not been able to find out what happened to the cabin or Crestline after the fires. Anyone know what happened up there? Johnny's Market, Alpine Restaurant, etc.??
Updates if anyones knows.
Thanks, Stod

Not too sure about most of that area. My foreman's mom lives in Crestline (I think) and she refused to evacuate. She got power about the middle of last week. I did hear that Santa's Village burned. Anybody else remember that place?

Last I heard was Santa's Village was saved...but that was only into the second day of the fires (I think)...probably became toast after that. I think my last visit to Santa's Village was in '85? Colder than crap...we had brandy in the flask!! My wife probably went there every year when she was a kid. When she saw the fires on TV, heard they were approaching Santa's Village and Crestline (where her family had a cabin since the late 60's) she cried. As mentioned previously, we still haven't heard much about what survived. Used to walk to a store (Johnny's) everyday from the cabin for beer; and of course, there was The Stockade. Great old fashioned bar and restaurant (read rundown)...but they had the best steaks around!
Cheers anyway, Stod
