Hello. I dig this website. I have a 2003 LS and I am modifying it a little at a time. What are some decent on/off road tires that will do well in snow, mud, and sand but still be tolerable to have on as I commute to work each day? I am keeping the stock wheels for now, but wnat a more aggressive looking tire that will actually perfrom offroad.

I am very much in the same boat as you. I've been looking at All-Terrain type tires, as I need something more than street tires. I like the Kelly Safari MSR.

I live up in the Pacific NW and Les Schwab is the main tire place here. I was looking at some Wild Countys or some thing like that. I guy I work with has a huge F-250 and swears by BF Goodyear. Still not sure yet...

I just had my bridgestone duler revo's(6 ply c- load rating) put on they are the top rated tire on tire rack overall and in most individual categories. They look great and make less noise than my khumos that I had on my chrome wheels. I got them mounted and ballanced for $625. So shop around for the best deal. I love them Clay

I just bought tires last night. Toyo Open Country AT 265/75-16. After much debating I had narrowed it down to the Toyo's, Bridgestone Dueller AT (Not the REVO's), ProComp AT, Cooper Discoverer AT, Goodyear Wrangler AT-S and and BFG AT-KO.
I eliminated the both the BFG's and Goodyears because I didn't want to spend close to $1000 for tires.
I got a price of $522 for the Toyo's installed (at the Goodyear dealer -sale) $479 for the Coopers installed (also at Goodyear - sale) $538 for the Bridgestone's installed (COSTCO - who woulda' thought) $838 for the ProComps installed (4 Wheel Parts -- wierd how they send out the buy 3 get one free catalog and when you go in the price magically increases - I kinda hate this place)
I ended up choosing the Toyo's because I've read some good things about them on this site. They have a 50k mile warranty and if I don't like them in 45 days or 500 miles I can give them back for something similar in quality and price.
So far I like them. I'm going to Gorman this weekend so I may have a light trail report later.

I've had my BFGoodrich AT/KOs (265/75R16) for a year now (17,000 miles) and still love them. Wear is unbelievable, fairly silent, and they run smooth. Handling is great offroad and onroad. $667 installed (including CA state bullsh*t and taxes..also bullsh*t). Without CA bullsh*t, $608. My tire dealer also speaks very highly of the Toyos.
Cheers, Stod
