i own a 99 MS XLS 2wd, i really have alot of fun taking it on back trails and dirt roads and everything. you know, just some MILD OFFROADING! since its pretty much all i can do with a 2wd. ;D ;D what type of suspension upgrades and other offroad upgrade should i get to make my MS handle alittle better, and stable? thanks in advance, ~tony

ok, so i was thinkin a set of tokico trek master r/t shocks, and a 1" anti-sway bar. some 16" rims with a BFG A/T tire. but, what about 18" rims, with maybe a 1-2" lift and a bigger tire.
i dont go over any really rough terrain, so im thinkin the 18's will be good, but im not sure. also what is a good rim to get? i have 15" on mine now, but i want to go with a 16 or 18 cause its a more common size.
thanks ~tony

Actually, it sounds like you've picked some good parts. If you're just running some dirt roads, any wheel that fits would be okay. Finding 16's can be a pain. I've seen some the net that say they will fit, but I think you would have a better selection to choose from in 18". Lets face it, big wheels are the thing right now, and all the manufacturers are making them. Finding 16's in the 6 by 139.7mm bolt pattern is getting easier, but there are so many more styles available in 18". Happy hunting!

Remember to inquire about the hub opening! Make sure it is a big enough diameter to slide over the hubs. If not, you're in for a little custom modification to get the wheels on your ride. The hubs are like 4 3/4" I think. I think someone on this forum has had this problem before. It's hard to remember what forum I'm on sometimes. Sorry. Have your wheel and tire center take a look at everything before you buy. If you're looking to buy online, you need to ask about this. I would feel real sh!tty if you bought some wheels just to turn around and have to return them. Sorry, I forgot to mention this point last time. Good luck.

when i bought my rims they would not fit over the hub. thank god i checked them before i had the tires mounted. the rim place recomended i put 1/4 inch wheel spacers on. i dont know if this was the right thing to do or not, but i have had no problems and i do quite a bit of aggressive off-roading. hope that will help.
