Word of warning: They are helpful for runaway shopping carts and such....but not much else! I've had one roll into our dealership with the end portion pushed into the bumper by a Home Depot dolly cart.... Joel, CA

I would suggest the GoRhino Hitch step. It's saved me twice from rear end damage. Once, a car rear ended me and no damage to the truck at all. The whole front end of the car was smashed in. $80 to replace. Second time, a car was behind me and then decided to try and squeeze by to the next lane. It literally tore the cars bumber off. I have a 3" lift so the hitch step was right in line with a car's grill Here is the link: www.gorhino.com/documents/hitchstep.html

Yoshi- san... it's about time you made it here to this forum! Good to see you here BTW- that rear hitch step sure looks beefy! I'd make sure to watch the knees when coming around the back of the truck Joel, CA

I also vouch for the GoRhino Hitch step. I was stopped at a light and I was rear ended by a car that was also rear ended by a 3rd car. The hitch step was bent and no damage was done to my vehicle. The other party insurance replaced the black hitch step with a chrome one. No extra charge for the upgrade.

The neat part with the GoRhino is the 3 deistance setting. On the third one, it actually sticks out pretty far. I keep it on the farthest one for maximum protection.

I've also seen one that has a back up warning installed in it. I think it was in JC whitney catalog.
