Lets say I dont use the OME shocks that are recommended for the OME springs while lifting the rear end of my 2000 Montero sport. What are some recommended shocks for front and back to use that are long enough for the lift and are compatible. Also is it recommended to replace the springs in front if you were just planning on raising via torsion bars? Just curious,

I dont belive ther are springs in the front. Just the torsion bars and shocks. The thing to do is detirmine how much lift u will get and then find some shocks that are the amount of lift longer than ur stock shocks. Rancho, Skyjacker or any other company like that will prob make a shock in that length. Clay

i just put bilstein shocks up front and i am totally pleased. i had the same problem with the factory front shocks dipping when getting on the brakes. the front end feels real good now, even handleing is better. they are very easy to install yourself. i hope you like them too.

Yeh, I have also heard that the blistiens are good up in the front also. Im going to look into them further as I get closer to doing the lift. I origionaly thought about the the Rancho 9000's cuz they were adjustable but were a little steep, the buy 3 get 1 free deal is comin up in March soon i think so well see.

hey bryan, i bought my shocks from www.bestforeignparts.com. they were about $68 a peice and like $10 for shipping. i dont remember what the part number was, but on the site just click what year, make, model etc. for the 4x4 they recomended the HD shocks, which they call "heavy duty". dont let that scare you. i think the ride is still good on and off road. hope the info helps.
