I have an ARB front winch bar coming in a couple of days and it comes powder coated from the ARB factory. I'm going to get it painted the Sudan Beige like I've seen a couple of other guys on this forum site. Does anyone know if I can have standard automotive paint sprayed over the black powder coat or if I need to get the bumper powder coated in the Sudan Beige color.
A friend told me that it wouldn't be a problem to put automotive paint ove the bumper, but he's no pro.
Thanks, Adam

Yes u can paint over it! I do custom paint and for some offects we paint over powdercoat, however if u can get it powdercoated to that color i would recomend it. It would be much more durable. Lata

Sirlordoz, Thanks for the reply! I wasn't sure which paint job to get (powder vs automotive), but I opted for the powder coat and got it back from the paint shop today. It's a perfect match and the guys said it won't get rock chipped from the road, (unless I crash into someone.) The color was called "Vegas Gold" and it had a slight metalic look, just like the factory color. If anyone gets an ARB bumper and wants to match their factory color I highly recommend the powder coat. It ran me about $50 more than the standard auto paint shops when I was getting paint estimates. thanks, Chips
